It really is better to be a member!

Membership at Area 27 is more than just access to an incredible track and state-of-the-art clubhouse! We’ve been working hard to create partnerships with various retailers, accommodators, wineries, and more to enhance our membership experience.

Normally Area 27’s season runs from April until the end of October weather dependent, fortunately the weather has been in our favour this year allowing us to extend into early November.

Since next weekend’s weather is looking sunny and warm (enough) we’ll be open for Members’ Lapping! November 3rd will be the last day for lapping for the 2019 track season.

Friendly reminder, that this time of year, the facility opens at 8am, the drivers’/riders’ meeting is at 9am and the track goes “hot” shortly thereafter. We break for lunch from 12-1pm, the track closes at 5pm and the facility closes at 6pm. Alternating run groups will be set at the morning meeting dependant on who is at the track, with the exception of November 2nd. This day will still be a Members’ Lapping day, but it will also be host to our first ever Dutchway GT Enduro Race. They will have a 30 minute practice at 1pm and the race will conclude the day commencing at 4pm. Come out and watch history in the making at Area 27!

That’s a wrap..on another club racing season

The 2019 season expanded to host five club racing weekends that had nearly 300 registrants in the four different classes – Radical SR3, GTU, RS1 Challenge & RS1 Cup. We saw the grids continue to grow, the lap times continue to diminish, and the competition become more fierce as the season carried on. For one series it came down to the final race to decide the champion. Continue reading to find out more!

But first…with the final club races having just taken place on October 12th, you can download the race results by clicking on the corresponding links:

Before we carry on with the announcing the champions, please download the updated Club Racing Rules & Regulations HERE.

Congratulations to our series champions!

Radical SR3MURRAY ROTHLANDER – Finishing 1st place in 7 out of 10 races and 2nd place in the 3 other races, driving the #10 “bat mobile”, he is the 2019 Colin Morris Radical Canada West Championship Winner.

GTU: Coming down to the last race day of the season the ever so close GTU series championship was awarded to BRAD WENDT in the #26 Porsche. In a very tight race, congratulations are also due to our 2nd and 3rd place finishers, JF Launier and Ramin Towfigh. For complete GTU standings please click HERE to download.

RS1 Track Cars: The RS1s ran two classes, the Challenge and the Cup, and although there was no champion awarded this season, we were happy to see these classes continue to attract more cars and drivers. Honourable mention goes out to SEAN MCINTOSH for his “sweep” of the Cup class on the September race weekend. Having finished with the fastest time in qually and taking home 1st place in both the races is no easy feat.
